蔡政府上台後兩岸關係冷凍，官方訊息已讀不回，民間兩岸交流路徑更顯重要，國民黨前主席連戰今(13)日與大陸領導人習近平會面，文傳會副主委洪孟楷表示，連習會對兩岸和平穩定發展有非常正向的意義，國民黨在主席吳敦義的帶領之下，堅持九二共識和一中各表原則，堅決反對台獨，在此立場及前提下，追求兩岸人民共同和平穩定發展，這點從未動搖。

日前連戰率團赴陸祭祖，今日上午與習近平會面，這也是兩人第四次的見面，會後連辦發出新聞稿指出，連戰在會面過程中提出了四點意見，第一是一個中國，兩岸「求一中原則之同，存一中涵義之異」；第二是兩岸和平，雙方「為人民謀幸福，為萬世開太平」；第三是互利融合，共策「交流合作互利，增進兩岸融合」；最後是振興中華，協力「促進民權民生，振興中華民族」。

洪孟楷指出，黨欣見榮譽主席連戰前往大陸展開和平會面，連戰提及兩岸應互為啟發、互相尊重，共同促成美好未來，相信更是台灣兩千三百萬人共同的期待。

洪孟楷強調，有關連習會談也提及「當前的兩岸關係形勢複雜嚴峻」，針對此點，國民黨也認為蔡英文政府身為現今執政黨，需要對於冷凍停滯的兩岸關係負起最大責任。和平，交流、互助、雙贏，這才會是一條真正帶領台灣走向繁榮大道，也更是兩千三百萬人共同的台灣價值。
